It's easy to get started.
Connecting to the Cable & Wireless HotSpot network is simple. Here's
what you'll need:
| |
A laptop, pocket PC or handheld device with Wi-Fi 802.11b
wireless capability. Your existing device may already have this capability
built-in. If not, you can purchase a Wi-Fi 802.11b wireless networking
card for most laptops and many handhelds at any computer retailer or the D-Link Wi-Fi Adpater from Cable & Wireless |
| |
Connecting to HotSpot - When you are in a HotSpot footprint, simply right-click the "Wireless Network" icon in your System Tray, and select "View Available Wireless Networks." You will see "CW HotSpot", high-light and click OK. |
| |
Web Browser - To authenticate over our open authentication network no additional software is required. Just launch any standard Internet-ready browser on any operating system and follow the easy on-screen instructions |
| |
Service Plan – Cable & Wireless HotSpot access is free of charge until launch. You will need your Cable & Wireless dialup or ADSL login ID and Password in order to login to a Hot Spot. After January, customers will also need to subscribe to a service plan in order to access Cable & Wireless HotSpots |
Now you're ready to go. Launch your browser, log-in and you're connected.
It's that simple.
