Cable & Wireless Tops The Competition

As of Monday 19, July, Cable & Wireless Pay As You Go and bFree customers will be able to top up their prepaid mobile phones at any Bank of Butterfield ATM as the company launches its electronic ATM TopUp service in conjunction with Butterfield Bank.

Customers of Cayman National, Scotia Bank and First Caribbean can also take advantage of the service by using their debit cards at any Butterfield Bank ATM location, without incurring any additional service charges.

“Cable & Wireless is very excited about our new TopUp programme as it offers a convenient, hassle-free way to top up, ” says Andrea Fa’amoe, C&W Corporate Communications Manager. “Not only is it available 24 hours, 7 days a week but customers no longer need to wait in line to purchase scratch cards. In addition, ATM TopUp makes it easier for our Pay As You Go and bFree customers to manage their spending as evidence of the transaction at the ATM shows up on their monthly bank statement.”

According to Fa’amoe, the TopUp is carried out just like any other ATM transaction. A receipt is printed that contains the TopUp PIN which the customer then uses by calling *3733 and following the voice prompts, just as they would with a card.

The TopUp service is just one of many new rewards and savings that Cable & Wireless has passed on to consumers over the past few months. In May, the telecommunications company introduced prepaid cards featuring new expiry periods of 660 days or 22 months, and the chance to get bonus minutes depending on the value of the card. C&W also boasts the lowest prepaid rates of the islands’ three mobile service providers and other added benefits such as free voicemail and call waiting.
